Club Annual Reunion

The Club holds an Annual Reunion in London every year, at the end of November or beginning of December: an opportunity to meet up with your fellow members, and enjoy some excellent and informative presentations.

Club Reunion21

This year's reunion will be held on Saturday 27th November 2021, from 10:00 to about 17:30, at The Institute of Education, University College London, 20 Bedford Way, WC1H 0AL (by Russell Square). The usual facilities of renewal, etc will be available. We welcome three returning speakers, who have given excellent and informative presentations in the past and we look forward to the same again.

Guest Speakers:

Mark Allatt                The P2 Project

Steve Armitage       All Things Great and Eastern, from Victorian Times to the End of Steam

Jack Boskett             100 Ways of Saying Cheese

There will be a post-Reunion drink and meal, from about 18:00, in The Marqus of Cornwallis hostelry in Marchmont Street, not far from the IoE (the Indian Restaurant we had hoped to patronise is currently closed). Please indicate on your booking if you wish to participate in the meal.

A flyer was circulted with the last Bulletin - or it may be downloaded here - with more details.

Please register your attendance by completing and returning the form at the bottom of the flyer, or by sending an email to Bob Stonehouse with the subject ‘Club Reunion21’, stating your name, membership number (it will be on the Bulletin envelope), any guest names and whether you wish to attend the post-Reunion evening meal, by Thursday 25th November.

The following UCL Covid restrictions (masks etc) apply:

  • If you are unlucky enough to have Covid symptoms (persistent cough, high temperature etc) then please do not attend.
  • On arrival at the IoE, please sign in (a tick in the box beside your name will do) at the reception desk on level 4 (up the stairs from the street level entrance lobby). A duplicate list will be available in the Meeting Room as a backup.
  • Please wear a face mask in the common areas, i.e. entrance lobby and lifts, etc.
  • Once in the Meeting Room, where the Reunion takes place, it will be optional to wear the mask according to the IoE guidance.
  • Every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure a safe environment in the room, including hand sanitisers.
  • Please remember that TfL requires a face mask to be worn when using their services (tube, bus, etc.)
