Club Annual Reunion 2026

The Locomotive Club of Great Britain is pleased to announce its Annual Reunion for 2026, dedicated to the memory of the late David Bosomworth

This will take place on Saturday 17th of January between 11:00 (Doors open at 10:00) and 17:00, in the Gascoigne Suite at the Union Jack Club, Sandell Street, London, SE1 8UJ, close to Waterloo Station.

David Bosomworth was a long time member of the Club, serving many years on the Management Committee before being made a Vice-President. Following a generous bequest from him to the Club, it has been decided to use this to fund the 2026 Reunion, which is dedicated to his memory. The Chairman will make a suitable address at the opening of the Reunion.

Membership Renewals and New Applications (1 year only) will be available.
Tea and coffee will be available from the foyer tea bar before the start at 11:00 and from the main bar afterwards, during the lunch break and the afternoon interval. There will be an evening meal at ca 18.00, for those who wish to end the day in a relaxed style.

You will need to register with the LCGB by Thursday January 15th 2026 at the latest, using the Registration Form below, or using the Reunion Flyer (click to download) distributed with the Bulletion. 

Please note that to comply with UJC rules you will need to sign in at reception on arrival, and again if you leave the premises during the midday break. Also, refreshments bought outside the UJC cannot be brought in.

Please note: for this reunion Club Members are admitted free of charge; non-members and guests £10 per head. (Donations from members are also welcome!) Payment may be made by bank transfer to the LCGB Bank Account, Sort Code 82 13 03, Account Number 20346642 with the reference Reunion 26.

11:05   Eastleigh Works from steam days to the present. Colin Boocock 

12:30   Lunch Interval. Members may use the UJC restaurant. 

14:00   Introduction by Adrian Palmer, Chairman, Overseas Tours Committee.

From the concourse at Waterloo main line station, take the escalators down opposite platforms 14-15. There is also an exit from the Jubilee line at street level. Cross Waterloo Road via the Zebra crossing and turn left. Almost straight ahead is The Wellington pub. Turn right by the Capital Tower into Sandell Street and the entrance to the UJC is a few yards down on the right. Please sign in at the reception desk where there will be a guest list provided. You will then be allowed to pass through the security gates into the foyer where the tea bar will be open until 11.00. The Reunion will be in The Gascoigne Suite, and will be signposted. 

Overnight Accommodation

It has been agreed with the Union Jack Club that anyone attending the Reunion can stay there overnight on a B & B basis, on the nights before and after the Reunion. Prices are (per night)  £95 single, £158 double, breakfast £14.50 (Please confirm if you make a booking, cheaper alternatives are available nearby).
